Handover protocol

To avoid unnecessary discussions between the tenant and the landlord, a handover protocol is prepared.

A handover protocol is a written document that serves as an inventory of defects and other property-specific information at the time of handing over the keys. This documentation protects both landlords and tenants when the latter move out.

When everything is in black and white, new defects or damages can be identified more quickly and old ones cannot be unfairly blamed on the tenant(s).

By the way, you can find our template for the handover protocol here:

From deficiencies to meter readings to the inventory taken over and the apartment documents handed over — with this checklist, the handover will go as smoothly as possible.
